Apache Wells is a 55+ Community surrounded by beautiful mountain views and close to shopping, dining, and other conveniences. Located in East Mesa Arizona, the main cross streets are Higley and McKellips Roads.

Apache Wells was established in 1962 with the opening of the Pro-shop and Restaurant, but some of the patio homes and condos were built as recently as the late 1990s. The homes and the land are owned by the residents (no lot rent!).

In the 1980s, 485 individual residents purchased the golf course rather than let it be sold to a large corporation. In 1989 Apache Wells became a 55+ community. Now the golf Country Club still has 485 memberships available - each household is one membership, regardless of the number of residents - and memberships are only open to Apache Wells homeowners.

The low monthly HOA fee includes access to all of the Country Club clubhouse amenities (except golf), and also includes trash pick up two times per week.

Amenities

With more than 40 different clubs and activities, Apache Wells offers you the opportunity to do as much or as little as you like. Some of the recreational activities at Apache Wells are:

18-hole championship golf course (membership is required); heated pool and jacuzzi; softball field with two senior softball teams; horseshoe pits; billiard room; fully equipped exercise room; shuffleboard; lapidary shop; ceramics; Bingo; playing cards; bicycle club; art lessons and organized art group; stitch and chat; beautiful new library; and potluck dinners; a community restaurant, and a community church.

A community newspaper called the Round Up is published monthly with their calendar of events.

Real Estate

Apache Wells was originally a mobile home neighborhood surrounding the Apache Wells golf course. You own the land here, so there's no lot lease to worry about. As the community grew, it added two single-level townhome neighborhoods and a condo complex - each with their own clubhouse and pool.

Some of the original mobile homes were placed on the lots in the 1960s, but some of the townhomes and condos were built as recently as the late 1990s. Most of the mobile homes are older and will need substantial updating to meet the demands of today's buyers.

Many of the older mobile homes are being removed and replaced with new modular units or newly constructed "stick built" detached single family homes, so you can find some brand new detached single family homes here.

Enjoy an 18 hole semi-private golf course that is owned by 485 residents of Apache Wells. During the summer months it is open to the public.
